The meaning of the positions of the six hexagram lines.

The top line represents the position of mind, the wise, inactive within time, end, resigned from temporalities, royal ancestral temple, top of head, ears, animal horns, old age, death.

The fifth line represents the position of organizing, leading, structuring, identity, head of state, male life partner, the Son of Heaven (emperor), head, back of neck, nose, mouth, full growth, culmination.

The fourth line represents the position of decisions, finding the way, choices, (beliefs) beliefs, minister, female life partner, feudal dukes and princes, back, torso, middle age, career, family formation.

The third line represents the position of emotions and evaluation, capacities, transitional, ministers, hip, waist, abdomen, ambition, striving, individual effort.

The second line represents the position of reactions, 'walking in the world', connections with other beings, behavior, national administrator, son, wife, first noble at court, ankle, calf, rational self-interest.
